The Shade vs. Pride Poetry Slam serves as the Premier, Main Stage event of the “Shades of Pride” Juneteenth Celebration.

Shade vs. Pride Poetry Slam features 20 Black, Brown, and LGBTQ+ Identifying poets and their allies battling a war with words for over 5k in cash prizes. Hosted By NovaCane and Produced by Slam Anderson in partnership with St Pete Pride, this head to head style slam will showcase some of the best poets in the Tampa Region. 

Shade vs. Pride Poetry Slam goes down on Friday, June 14th 2020 at 6:30 pm in Warehouse B @ The Factory.

This year, the “Shades of Pride'' Juneteenth Celebration unfolds as a vibrant 2-day Art and Music Festival celebrating the rich experiences of the Black and Brown LGBTQIA+ community in the Tampa Bay Region through Art, Culture, Music, and Panel Discussions. Day 1, Friday, June 14, 2024, sets the stage with a dynamic Prequel to Ballroom, featuring Poetry Slam and a Night Party. Day 2, Saturday, June 15, 2024, offers engaging panel discussions, captivating live musical performances, and culminates in the prestigious Honors Ball.
